Privacy

The short version: reading this site requires nothing from you, forms collect only what you type, and your details are never sold, shared or used to generate sales leads. The longer version follows.

Reading the site

No account, no paywall, no tracking pixels, no advertising trackers. The site is served through Cloudflare, whose infrastructure logs requests (IP address, user agent, timing) for security and performance in the ordinary course of serving any website; we run no analytics beyond the aggregate, non-identifying counts that hosting provides.

Tips, corrections and advertising forms

The forms send exactly the fields you fill in, and for tips and corrections the identity fields are optional by design: we would rather have an anonymous verifiable tip than a named unverifiable one. Submissions are stored securely and read by the editorial team. If you leave an email, it is used to reply to you about your submission and for nothing else.

Files you attach to a tip or correction are stored privately, are never published or linked publicly, and are automatically deleted after 30 days. Attachment contents are treated as claims to verify against primary sources, not as publishable material.

Source protection

If you tell us something in confidence, the confidence is the point. We do not publish tipsters' identities, and we write stories from the primary documents that verify a tip rather than from the tip itself, so a story does not point back at its source.

What we will never do

  • Sell or share your details with anyone, including advertisers.
  • Pass your details to installers, retailers or any other business: this site does no lead generation of any kind.
  • Add you to a mailing list you did not ask for.

Questions or requests

To ask what we hold about you or to have it deleted, use the contact page and say so; we will act on it and reply if you leave an address.
